Chelsea Transfers

The 2017/2018 transfer season has been horrid for Chelsea. First, they missed signing Romelu Lukaku. Then Liverpool beat the blues when they signed Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. However, it looks like things might be turning around for the team as reports indicate that Antonio Conte is close to signing free-agent Bacary Sagna.

The 34-year-old free-agent formerly of Manchester City and Arsenal was released at the end of last year. Chelsea is looking for a viable alternative for right-wing back Victor Moses and Sagna fits the bill. The immensely experienced French international player is in demand with Manchester United keen on snapping up one of the best right-backs in the League.

Sagna is a veteran of the Premier League with as many as 350 appearances to his name. He is currently out of contract and will welcome to the attention from two of the top in the Premiership. As a member of the French national side, the veteran will definitely add to whichever team he joins.

Between Manchester United and Chelsea, it would be safe to say that the Blues need Sagna more. Conte badly needs cover for Moses on the right-hand and is probably willing to pay more for his services. United on the hand wants some competition for Antonio Valencia for the right-back role. Chelsea is the favorite to sign Bacary Sagna, because they need him more, and because he is exactly what the team needs right now.
